HAVERHILL — The town of Haverhill has named a contract manager from the Vermont Agency of Transportation as its next town manager.
Brigitte Codling, a St. Johnsbury resident who has worked in everything from project management to electronic bidding and highway construction at AOT, will start as town manager in Haverhill on April 24, the town said in a news release on Tuesday. Her salary will be $93,500.
Codling replaces former Town Manager Jo Lacillade, who stepped down last fall in part because of frustration over what she said was the “lack of support” for town employees. Former town manager Glenn English has been acting as interim manager since she departed.
“I look forward to developing a positive and productive relationship with the residents of Haverhill where we establish collective goals for the future and work together to achieve those goals,” Codling said in the news release. “I intend to continue Glenn’s open-door policy and welcome the insight and input of residents. I am very excited to begin this new journey.”
Codling started at AOT as an asphalt binders testing technician in 2000, and for the past 20 months, she has been the construction management business lead/contract manager at the AOT in Montpelier, according to her LinkedIn profile.
She earned a bachelor of architectural studies degree from Vermont College of Norwich University in 2002 and is currently enrolled in a master’s degree program in management and leadership through Western Governors University, an online university based in Utah.
Codling previously served as a member of the Cabot, Vt., Selectboard and interim road commissioner and also was active in a snowmobile club in the Northeast Kingdom. She and her husband Mark also own a small property management and construction company in St. Johnsbury, according to the Haverhill news release.
