Grafton Garbage truck purchase passes along with $1.2 million budget

GRAFTON — Voters on Tuesday approved an operating budget of just under $1.2 million, a $22,000 decrease from last year, on a 154-77 vote.

Articles calling for the purchase of a 2014 garbage and recycling roll-off truck and to spend $40,000 on paving also passed handily.

Road Agent Robert Bassett defeated challenger Geoffrey Joyce for a three-year term, 131-112.

Jennie Joyce was unopposed for another term on the Selectboard, and Ed Grinley was unopposed for Budget Committee.
