New London HospitalVolunteer Manager Honored

New London — New London Hospital’s volunteer services manager, Nancy Collins, received the annual Team of Stars Award from the New England Association of Directors of Healthcare Volunteer Services during the organization’s annual meeting, held last month in Connecticut.

The Team of Stars Award is given to members of the organization who have displayed exceptional efforts for the good of the membership.

“As treasurer of (the association), Nancy’s role is often behind the scenes, but she is truly the engine that keeps these trains on track and running,” Mary Brown, president of the association, said in a news release. “Nancy is deeply respected among her New England peers for her commitment, her humility and her work ethic.”

“I’m honored to be a part of (the association) and to be recognized,” Collins said. “Volunteer efforts are vital components in healthcare and to be able receive education from and network with other members of the organization is my reward.”
