CANAAN, NH — Barbara (Drew) Blanchard of Lebanon, NH and Canaan, NH passed away peacefully on February 1 at the Jack Byrne Center from complications from a battle with a rare blood cancer. She was 86. Barbara was born and raised in Lyme, NH until she met and married Charles Blanchard in 1954. Together they raised five children; Betsy Lahaye (Dick) of West Lebanon, NH, Sam Blanchard of Canaan, NH, Debbie Blanchard (Scott) of Tempe, AZ, Nancy Moye (Kevin) of Canaan, NH and Lori Yunger (Tim) of Shaftsbury, VT. She is predeceased by her husband and one grandson, Jason Timmons. She enjoyed and was very proud of all of her eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Barbara is also survived by five siblings; Carol Phelps, Dorothy Stearns, Emily Orf , Richard Drew, and Bill Drew. Many nieces, nephews, and close friends. Barbara’s favorite thing to do, right up until her death, was to bird watch. She also enjoyed family gatherings, walking and jigsaw puzzles. There will be no calling hours or funeral. Burial will be in the spring. The family would like to thank her Norris Cotton Cancer Center Team and the wonderful, caring staff at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative & Hospice Care.
