Engagement: Boyd — Irwin

Woodstock — Ann Marie and Joe Boyd of Woodstock have announced the engagement of their daughter, Laura Boyd, of Woodstock, to Sam Irwin, of Nashua, N.H.

The bride-to-be graduated from Woodstock Union High School in 2012. She earned a bachelor’s degree in applied math from Wentworth Institute of Science in Boston in 2015. She is employed as a project analyst at Old Point National Bank in Norfolk, Va.

The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Ann and David Irwin of Nashua. He graduated from Nashua High School North in 2012 and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London in 2017, majoring in operations research and computer analysis. He is a U.S. Coast Guard ensign stationed in Portsmouth, Va.

The couple is planning an October wedding in Woodstock.
