Post Mills, VT – George Minier Braley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
George was born in Randolph, VT on September 24, 1949 the son of Hazel Braley (Burnham) Therriault and Burnace Braley. George spent most of his younger years on the Albert and Helen Luce Farm in White River Jct., VT, where he gained his love of dairy farming. He graduated from Hartford High School, class of 67′. He went on to graduate from VTC’s Agricultural program in 69′. While attending college he worked on many dairy farms before going on to start his own farm in Randolph. He met his future wife Linda Tilton of Randolph, VT. They married on October 16, 1971. Together they continued to dairy farm in Randolph before moving to Post Mills in 1975. Together they had four children, and ran their own farm for many years. He went on to work for DHIA, Select Sires and LF Trottier’s for many years.
After retirement he ran a firewood business and drove bus for Butler Bus up until his passing. He enjoyed horse racing, tractor pulls and anything to get together with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda, his sister Charlotte Fisk, his four children Heather (Chip) Powers of Vershire, Christina Garrow of West Fairlee, Troy (Jen) Braley of Tunbridge and Tyler Braley of Post Mills, a former daughter-in-law Amber Braley-Taylor, 11 grandchildren and was blessed with a great granddaughter before his passing.
He was predeceased by his father Burnace, his mother Hazel, his sister Patricia Powers and his brother Bernard Braley.

Calling hours will be held Friday, July 10, 2026 from 6-8pm at the Boardway and Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT RT 110, Chelsea, VT. A memorial service will be held, Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 4pm at the Post Mills Congregational Church, 397 VT-244, Fairlee, VT 05045.
