Plainfield, N.H. — Carolyn M. Athanas, 62, died peacefully following a decade-long battle with pulmonary and heart diseases on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Jack Byrne Center. Born in Ohio, Carolyn moved to New England after falling in love with the area on a visit with her parents, Bill and Kay Robinson, who predeceased her. Eventually, Carolyn moved to Plainfield and was proud to call it home for over 36 years.

Carolyn dedicated her life to children, spending 20 years working at The Children’s Center of the Upper Valley, where she helped shape a generation of Upper Valley residents. She adored her children and grandchildren. Until she was physically unable to, she and her husband were avid bowlers and active in local leagues.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years Richard Athanas of Plainfield, and her three children: Steve Athanas and his wife Danielle of Massachusetts, Casey Athanas of Massachusetts, and Laura Packard, and her fiancé Paul Churchill of New Hampshire as well as her three grandchildren William and Evangeline Athanas and Alyssa Packard.
