Lebanon, NH – Adele Patch, 94, born in Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away Friday April 24th, 2026, raised in Woodsville, New Hampshire. Met the love of her life on August 5, 1952 at a milking contest where she won first prize in love and her heifer running out of milk at the Grafton County Farm. Donald Hough Patch and Adele are now reunited and this love story will continue.
Adele was one of thirteen, as she said ‘his, hers and theirs” predeceased by Jennette Meneguzzi, Patrick Boudreault Sr., Lorraine Breault, David Locke, Celia Chouinard, Russell Locke, Eleanor Grimes, Gayland Locke and Amos Locke. Surviving and supportive siblings are Marguerite Currier, June Lamonde and Joseph Locke.
Mother of Sally Cole and Cynthia Duff. Grandmother of Christa Beasley, Sarah Lindberg, Justin Andrews, Elizabeth Stone and Christine Decato. Great Grandmother of Logan and Tyler King, Deanna Lindberg, Conner and Parker Beasley and Kelty Stone.
Always proud of her “barnyard degree” and her love of quilting. She was one of the founding members of Northern Lights Quilting Guild. Adele loved sharing her quilts and techniques with others. She loved her industrial bread mixer and making “eight loaves at a time” of her maple oatmeal and wheat bread. Her berry picking was borderline a obsession and she loved to give jam to anyone that needed a smile. Adele’s friends were so important to her, if you were not a friend yet, you were “someone that looked familiar” and you would be a friend soon.
Adele knew the weather before the weatherman, what the shape of the clouds meant, what direction the wind meant, the puzzles will all be put together, the sunsets will all have spots in the photo album, the pins will be all displayed perfectly and the sun will be soaked up.
Always up for a hearty handshake as she referenced her milking hands often. Adele had a sense of humor that was honest and unique. She made you smile and likely laugh, either way you couldn’t keep a straight face. If you had the pleasure of meeting Adele she would say “I’m a nut, but it takes one to know one”.
Family and friends are invited to Adele’s calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Wednesday April 29th from 4 to 6 PM. Her funeral will be held at the Lebanon United Methodist Church on Thursday April 30th at 11 AM. Following she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Glenwood Cemetery.
