NEW LONDON โ In uncontested races decided by ballot on Tuesday, voters elected Bebe Hammond Casey to a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen and David R. Keith Jr. to a three-year term on the Kearsarge school board.
They also approved four zoning amendments.
One amendment sought to bring the town into compliance with state law in allowing accessory dwelling units.
Another amended institutional districts to provide for the “evolving” needs of the college and hospital in town.
A third article added cottage court housing, small-scale residential developments around shared common space, as a new section in the zoning ordinance.
The fourth amended the zoning ordinance to come into compliance with state law that prohibits zoning ordinances from restricting households based on familial status.
Of New London’s 3,686 registered voters, 732, or nearly 20%, cast ballots Tuesday.
Town Meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 18 at 6 p.m. at the Colby-Sawyer College Hogan Sports Center in New London.
