CROYDON โ€” Voters approved a zoning amendment and decided two contested Selectboard races in ballot voting on Tuesday.

Voters supported the adoption of a Growth Management Ordinance aimed at promoting the “orderly development of land” in town and preventing “crisis conditions caused by abnormal spurts of growth” that would place demands on public resources.

Amy Freak won a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen with 135 votes to David Doremus’ 44.

Shawn Douglas also won a three-year term on the board, beating out Carl Newton, 123 to 41.

In an uncontested race on the school side, Samantha Nelson was elected to a three-year term.

The in-person town meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Croydon Volunteer Fire Department. The in-person school meeting is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m. on March 14 at the fire department.
