White River Jct., VT – Robert L. Trombley I, 81 of White River Junction Vermont passed away suddenly Sunday January 4, 2026 at his residence. He was born August 13, 1944 to Alfred & Irene (Mosher)Trombley. He grew up in Woodstock, VT where he graduated from high school.
Robert was a beloved father who will always be remembered as a lifelong truck driver starting his career at Billings Dairy in the early 1960’s delivering milk. He also worked at Tri-State Timberland, Johnson & Dix and Irving Oil Company. He finally retired from his part-time job at Federated Auto Parts.
In his younger years he enjoyed playing softball, bowling and horseshoes. He was a lifelong member of the Elks Club as well as an active member of the Lions Club in Canaan, New Hampshire. Robert was also an avid Patriots fan but his greatest passions in life were his Harley Davidson motorcycle and Chocolate Labrador Harley.
He is survived by his partner of many years Donna Smith (Canaan, NH), sister Nancy Young & husband Karl (North Carolina), sister Tammy Fassett (Williamstown, VT), daughter Roxanne Zola & Jimmy (Thetford, VT), son Robert Trombley II & wife Brittanny (Tyler, TX), daughter Donna Shepard & husband David (Hartland, VT), daughter Mandilyn Coderre (Newport, VT), grand children Sara Dube & husband Kyle (Quechee, VT) Carmen Clarkson (White River JCT, VT) Travis Clarkson & wife Christal (Lebanon, NH) Kyle Trombley & wife Sawyer (Tyler, TX) Katelyn Trombley & fiancรฉ Will (Ft. Worth, TX) Abbigail Corderre (Newport, VT) Taneka Demers (Newport, VT) & 11 great grandchildren.
Robert is proceeded in death by parents Alfred & Irene Trombley, brother Junior, brother Joseph, and sister Arlene.
Services for Robert L. Trombley I will be held Friday January 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm at the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock, VT. A private family burial will follow in the spring of 2026.
