The menโ€™s hockey team split its matchups with Arizona State in the 36th Ledyard Classic at Thompson Arena over the weekend.ย 

On Saturday, the Big Green fell to the Sun Devils 5-1. Hayden Stavroff had Dartmouthโ€™s only goal in the matchup, which was assisted by Cam MacDonald.ย 

Dartmouth recovered from its loss on Saturday and came back on Sunday, swinging, defeating Arizona State, 4-1.ย

Brock Cummings, MacDonald, Nathan Morin and Hank Cleaves found the back of the net for the Big Green, while Emmett Croteau had 19 saves.ย 

After the split, the Big Green are now 12-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play, and are ranked ninth in the nation. They hit the ice again on Friday for a road battle with Princeton, then travel to No. 10 Quinnipiac on Saturday.

Womenโ€™s basketball suffers second straight loss

The Big Green traveled to Burlington for a matchup with regional foe Vermont on Sunday but could not come away with a win, falling 61-59.ย ย 

Four members of the Big Green scored in double figures in the matchup. Zeynep Ozel led the way with 15 points, Alexandra Eldredge scored 12 points, while Cate MacDonald and Olivia Austin each added 10 points.ย 

Dartmouth is now 8-4 and will look to get back to its winning ways in its Tuesday matinee at home against St. Josephโ€™s University Brooklyn, as it prepares to open Ivy League play on Saturday when it hosts Harvard.ย 

Menโ€™s basketball drops second consecutive gameย 

The Big Green faced a challenging task on Monday when they headed to Gainesville, Fla., to take on a top-25 team, the Florida Gators, and fell 94-72.ย 

Cameron McNamee paced Dartmouth offensively with 16 points in the loss. Kareem Thomas and Jackson Munro each added 15 points.ย 

The Big Green are now 5-7 and will look to come up with a win on Thursday when they host Elms College.ย
