Carol J. Brown

Cornish, NH – Carol J. Brown, 85, of Jackson Road in Cornish died Wednesday October 24, 2025 at The Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon. She was born on July 25, 1940 in Claremont, N.H., the daughter of Rosamond Ann (Thompson) Dumayne and Laverne Douglas Gardner.

Carol was a graduate of Stevens High School in the class of 1958, and a Majorette in the marching band, performing at the second inauguration of President Eisenhower in 1957. On September 10, 1960 she married Arthur K. Brown and together they ran P.K. Brown and Sons, Inc. manufacturing and buying lumber for many faithful customers.

Carol was a member at the Hampton Club in St. Simon’s Island, GA. She enjoyed painting beautiful works of art in both oil and water colors. She was a very devoted dog owner to all of her dogs, including her last dog Tia.

The family includes her sister Rosamond (Gardner) Lawson of Sparks, NV, her brother Arthur Dumayne of Claremont N.H. and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on November 15, 2025 at 10 AM, a prayer service will be held at 11 AM, and private burial following.
