Adoptable Pets in the Upper Valley (May 19, 2016)

Baxter, adoptable from Potter’s Angels Rescue

“My name is Baxter. I possess super powers. I have so much green energy, I could reduce dependence on fossil fuels. And I can leap over average-size fences, and even ‘invisible’ fences, in a single bound.

“I have many other strengths, as well. I am fully housetrained and crate-trained. I know ‘sit,’ ‘down,’ ‘stay’ and so on. I ignore cats and get along with most dogs, especially those that are submissive.

“I have lived with children and while I am well-behaved and loving with them, I would prefer not to live with them full-time — they really stress me out. So, I am seeking a quiet adults-only home. But I also want someone with an active lifestyle to share my energy with. Do you go for daily hikes or jogs? I would love to be your companion! Do you enjoy training in agility? I excel at jumping obstacles!

“I would be remiss if I did not also mention that I take an inexpensive medication twice-daily for a seizure disorder. My juvenile idiopathic epilepsy is totally managed with no side-effects or complications, and it does not slow me down.”

Baxter is an approximately 3 1/2 year-old 55-pound male of mixed descent. He is neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

Tux, Tilly, and Spirit, adoptable as a trio from Sullivan County Humane Society

This trio’s mom moved then all the way from California last year when she moved in with friends. Sadly, one of her elderly roommates was allergic to them. After trying to make it work for months, the difficult decision was made to surrender them for the health of the elderly roommate.

Tux, Tilly, and Spirit are bonded and would really like to stay together. Tux is a big boy, weighing 18 pounds, and is the “guardian” of his sisters. He is 9 years old.

Tilly is a pretty girl and quite active for her 14 years of age. She had a complete senior blood panel and is healthy.

Stunning Spirit, with her beautiful white coat and blue eyes, is, if not completely deaf, very hard of hearing. Spirit often sleeps wrapped around Tux’s body.

All three of these sweethearts have been fully vetted including needed teeth cleanings.

Raven, adoptable from River Valley Animal Protection League

Raven (also known as Baby Rae) is a small, adorable, black kitty with some big quirks. She is about 3 or 4 years old, and has spent most of her life in a shelter setting.

Raven is an amazingly sweet and loving cat. She has a big, eager purr and gives the best head bonks. During her time at River Valley Animal Protection League we have found that she is also quite playful, too.

Raven is easy to love, but she needs consistent support to feel safe in her environment. Introducing her to new places absolutely must be done slowly and start very small, as part of a multi-step process.

Raven’s family will be as much her guardians as they will be her friends, and she gives as good as she gets.

Raven gets along with other cats, but probably wouldn’t be a good match for a family with young children. Please stop in or give us a call if you think you would like to make a commitment to this amazing cat.

Pink, adoptable from Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society

“Hi! My name is Pink and I’m a 5-year-old spayed female. I came to Lucy Mackenzie from another shelter and I’m very grateful I did.

“I wasn’t in the greatest health when I first arrived, but I feel like a million bucks now! I’ve received some much needed medical attention and treatment and I feel like I can be my true self now.

“I’m playful, kind, and loving. I like other cats and I love people, too. If you’ve been looking for an adorable little feline to fill your life and home with lots of love and smiles, stop in and meet me today!”

Wizzy, adoptable from Upper Valley Humane Society

“Hi, my name is Wizzy! I am a 2-year-old female. I’m sweet, kind and very smart.

“I need a family who will set limits for me and not let me cross them. I am food-motivated and smart, so combining those two things will make training a blast. I would benefit from an active home with daily walks and exercise. I would prefer to live with older children.

“My canine personality is Go-Getter: Want to get to more exercise? ‘Action’ is my middle name. My ‘let’s go!’ lifestyle will keep you motivated to get outside and move.

“I’ve got tons of energy, and just like the sun, I’m burning and working 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I’ll run for miles, chase a ball for hours, and still want to play at the end of the day.”
