LEBANON, NH — Edward Earl Ashey, 82, a long time Mascoma Street resident, passed away Monday August 31, 2020. Ed was born in Newbury, Vermont to the late Gordon Earl & Julia M. (Gilson) Ashey. Ed attended school in West Lebanon and began working on area farms as a young man. He later worked for Hunt’s Department store, Baltic Woolen Mill in Enfield, Western Auto and operated his own business, Ed’s Bike & Sports Shop on Hanover Street in Lebanon. Most recently Ed has been serving as the curator of the Lebanon Historical Society. Over the years Ed had enjoyed hunting, fishing and had belong to the NRA, collecting bottles, he was a history buff and enjoyed visiting museums and forts with his family along with trips through out New England with weekends at Old Orchard Beach in Maine.

He is survived by his longtime companion Sylvia Churchill, his children Deborah “Debbie” Rich and husband Jerry, Veronica “Vickie” Daniels and husband John, Reginald “Reggie” Ashey and wife Penny, Mercedes “Missy” Russell and husband Dave, Cheryl Ashey and companion Andy Hanscom, a brother Gordon Earl Ashey Jr. and wife Carol, 10 Grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Ed was predeceased by his wife Beverly J. (Picard) Ashey, a brother Francis “Frank” James Ashey and a great granddaughter Kacey Grizzaffi.

Ed was a compassionate and giving man. Always putting other’s feelings and wishes before his own. A man that you could always count on. A blessed soul that will be missed and cherished profoundly by family and all that knew him.
