NEWBURY, N.H. — Ford Sayre’s Deming Dwyer and Sumner Finley both raced to overall third-place finishes at a New Hampshire Alpine Racing Association Western Division U12 giant slalom at Mount Sunapee on Sunday.
Each skier had three runs, with the first two counting toward overall placement. Dwyer led the Ford Sayre girls by taking third, fifth and sixth in her races. Lilian Miller was eighth, ninth and seventh in her runs to place eighth overall.
Finley was second, fourth and third in his events to take third among the boys. Owen Osterberg took fourth with three top-five runs. Rhys Winchester (eighth) and Hopper Kelley (ninth) also cracked the top 10 overall.
FSA U16 boys solid
FRANCONIA, N.H. — Ford Sayre Academy’s U16 boys all landed in the top 16 out of 77 competitors at a NHARA U16 giant slalom qualifier at Mittersill on Monday.
Schuyler Clapp led the way for FSA with an 11th-place overall result in a two-run time of 2:24.52. Teammate Nick Reiss was right behind in 12th (2:24.53). Ford Sayre’s Zach Tracy took 15th (2:25.56), and Ethan Munson was 16th (2:25.60).
Former Ford Sayre competitor Zander Doyle was 13th overall (2:24.60).
