Michael L. Townsend

Lebanon, NH – Michael Townsend, born on December 27, 1965 to Robert and Carolyn Townsend. Mike lived on Storrs Hill Road his whole life. He was a devoted husband, father, and hardworking man. He passed away on October 25, 2026 leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of hard work, love, determination, and family.

From a young age, Mike learned the value of hard work while working on his family farm. Those early years shaped the man he would become-someone who took pride in working with his hands, providing for his family, and never being afraid of the challenges and sweat equity of running the five generational dairy farm of Tadmor Farm.

In 2003, Mike took a leap of faith and bought his first truck, beginning what would become a successful business and career of M.L. Townsend Enterprises that he was proud of. Through years of dedication, long days, and countless miles, he built his business from the ground up. He continued working and growing his business until his retirement in August 2026.

Outside of work, Mike had a lifelong passion for motorcycles. He especially loved dirtbikes and the excitement of racing. Whether he was riding himself, watching a race, or simply talking motorcycles with his many friends, it was a part of who he was and something that brought him tremendous joy.

Above all else, Mike loved his family. He spent 34 years with his beloved wife, building a life filled with love, hard work, laughter, and memories. He was a proud father to his four children. Mike will be remembered for his strong work ethic, independent spirit, and wisdom of knowing “you can’t outrun your name,” but most importantly, the love he had for his family.

Whether on the road in his truck or riding dirt bikes and motorcycles, Mike had a way of turning the people he met into lifelong friends. To him, these were more than shared hobbies. The communities he became part of grew into an extended family; proof of the lasting bonds he formed everywhere life took him. His presence will be deeply missed, but the life he built and the memories he created will live on through those who loved him.

Mike is survived by his bride, Joan Townsend; his daughters, Brooke, Samantha, and Rachael; and his son, Hugh. Mike leaves behind his parents, sister, uncles, aunts and extended family.

Farmer Strong. Family Proud. Forever Loved.
