Support Mike Belanger for N.H. House
I read with interest your article about the two contestants for the Sullivan District 2 house seat in your Oct. 14 paper. I know and support Mike Belanger, the other, Jenny Ramsey I don’t know her, but have heard about her.
Mike has lived in Cornish for seven years as the owner of the Chase House. Before taking that on, he served in a variety of U.S. government jobs. Among other ideas, Mike supports HB 1300 to cap local school property taxes at the inflation rate. The bill further directs more money to students by limiting the amount school districts can spend on administration costs.
Ms. Ramsey does not. This won’t come as a surprise if you dig a little and read her reports on raising and spending funds for her last election campaign running for Sullivan District 7 House seat. She took in a total of $58,456, of which $33,500 came from an out-of-state PAC, The PAC for America’s Future. Somehow those figures and an out-of-state PAC seem like overkill in a contest for a job which offers almost no compensation.
She lost. Her opponent spent a little less than $8,000.
As I said, I support Mike Belanger and I hope my fellow Cornish voters will too.
