Norwich, VT – Jesse John Farrell, 49, died on Friday, August 14th, 2026 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH.
Jesse was born on May 5, 1977 in Pittsfield, MA and was the son of John Farrell and JoMarie Costello.
Jesse loved anything that had wheels or a motor. He started with mountain biking and quickly advanced to four-wheelers, dirt bikes, Jeeps and snowmobiles. When Jesse was 9 he moved to Thetford, VT where he had a tight group of friends that enjoyed all of these activities as well. The group of boys stayed friends and are in touch as adults. Jesse loved these guys like brothers.
Jesse graduated high school in Litchfield, CT at the Forman School. Jesse returned to Vermont and worked in construction- running heavy equipment, laboring and driving trucks. Jesse was well known, trusted and respected in his vocational community. Jesse also worked at FW Webb as a “counter guy”. Shortly after he started working at Webb, he decided to get his CDL and then worked for Northwoods Excavating in Thetford, VT for over 15 years. Jesse made lifetime friends at Northwoods.
Jesse loved animals and found peace in spending time with his cat as an adult and as a child loved his cats, dogs and goats.
He is survived by his parents, his former wife and best friend Sarah Brownell, the Brownell family; Tom, Suzie, Bill, Evan, and Emery, his niece Ivy Farrell, and many close friends. He is predeceased by a brother Casey.
Friends are invited to gather for a celebration of Jesse’s life at the home of Glenn Farriot, 116 All Seasons Drive, East Thetford, VT on Saturday, September 5th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm where refreshments can be enjoyed and a time to share will begin at 2:15pm.
