William (Bill) A. Roberts

Lebanon, NH – William (Bill) A. Roberts, 71 passed away on July 31, 2026 at the Jack Byrne Center after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Bernard and Nellie Roberts of Hartford VT and the youngest of 7 children.

Bill grew up in Hartford and graduated from Hartford High School and lived in the Upper Valley his entire life. Bill worked for the Swift Meat Processing plant in WRJ then at Clegg Electric before starting his own business, WAR Construction. Bill also worked for many people in the Quechee area doing property maintenance.

Bill enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling in his younger years and playing and watching golf in later years. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell stories, some were believable. Bill was a great cook and loved to make big meals to share with his family and friends. He really loved rare steaks and burgers.

Bill is survived by two daughters, Lori Willoughby (Byran) of NC and April Roberts (John) of WRJ, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, his sister Patricia Smith (Len) of AZ, his brother Donald Roberts (Alinda) of VT, his longtime partner Marsha Sargent of Taftsville VT, several cousins, nieces and nephews and his dog Molly2.

He was predeceased by his Sisters Elizabeth Willey McGrail & Dorothy LaBombard and Brothers Richard Roberts & Eugene Roberts as well as a niece and 2 nephews, and a daughter Heidi that died at birth.

Bills smile will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Flowers can be sent to the Knights Funeral Home in WRJ for the service.

Graveside services will be held at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in WRJ VT on Saturday August 15th at 3:00 pm.
