Newport , NH – June Carol Pera, 82 originally of Fitchburg, MA passed away on July 4, 2026 in the home of her daughter in Lynn Haven, FL.
June was born in Fitchburg on October 13, 1943, the daughter of Andrew and Hilda Pera, both of Fitchburg. June graduated from Fitchburg High in 1961 and spent several years in Southern California receiving an AA degree as she worked towards a degree in Adventure education and Outdoor studies. June returned to New England in the early 1980’s and resided in Newport New Hampshire until just before her passing.
June is survived by her daughters, Lory Rae Ash, and Dayl Lyn Duncan and her husband Randy Duncan. June had one grand daughter, Alyssa Adams, and one great grand daughter, Diana Adams.
June loved the outdoors and was an accomplished backpacker, whitewater canoeist and rock climber. She also loved hiking and kayaking, outdoor photography, reading, quilting, gardening and caring for pets.
June lived an adventurous, fulfilling life, had deep faith in God, and found wonder in all creation. She was a gentle, honest, kind soul who loved, and was loved by the many friends she made wherever she called home; a void will be felt in her absence.
