David Edward Hynes

Plainfield, NH – David Edward Hynes, 66, a long-time resident of Plainfield, passed Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH, from complications of cancer.

David was born in Lebanon, NH on July 3, 1960, to Doris (Lessard) and George T. Hynes, Sr. He graduated from Lebanon High School and joined the Army. For many years he was a self-employed chimney builder.

David enjoyed traveling, taking pictures, camping, swimming, and tie-dyeing. He loved playing pranks and telling jokes. David was a member of the American Legion and the Elks and volunteered around the holidays.

David is survived by his mother, Doris Hynes of Plainfield, NH; daughter, Katelyn (Rory) Duhe of Prairieville, LA; grandsons, Declan and Daxton Duhe of Prairieville, LA; brothers, George (Wendy) Hynes Jr. of Piermont, NH, Timothy (Rhonda) Hynes of Croydon, NH, James Hynes of Plainfield, NH, and Andrew (Carla) Hynes of Claremont, NH; sister, Sandra (Jim) Parsons of North Fort Myers, FL; and nephew, William Hynes.

David was preceded in death by his father, George T. Hynes, Sr. of Plainfield, NH, and his sister, Cynthia Hynes of Wilder, VT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon, NH on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:00 A. M. Fr. Charles Pawlowski will officiate. Committal prayers will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Lebanon, NH. A reception following the services will be held at American Legion Post #22 in Lebanon, NH.
