Poisonous cartoon should not have run
“Lisa’s” grotesque cartoon in the July 1 issue portrayed the Democrats as a sinister, armed frogman preparing to sink “Election Integrity” by torpedoing the “Save America Act” pontoon boat.
The ONLY time that accusations of Democrats stealing or tryimg to steal elections were taken to AMERICA’S NATIONAL JUDICIARY. they were proven untrue or dismissed on the merits about 19 ½ out of 20 times, as I recall. These decisions were rendered by men and women of the courts appointed by our representatives, by Democrats, Republicans, and Trump,
Both political parties do their best within the law to maximize the turnout of their voters. But the Republicans with their 2020 accusations undermine Americans’ faith in the election process itself — and the judicial process as well|
If I were the Valley News editorial staff, I would have chosen not to run this cartoon since it builds on and expands a trope which is harmful to our country.
