Nice job, America
Investment firms and big banks and our now chief executive make markets. Through their words and social media posts, their bets and hedges, they create the markets, promote the markets, manipulate the markets, and profit from the markets they bring to life. For example, during the economic crisis of the early 2000s, the too-big-to-fail banks huffed and puffed, predicting the decline of Greece as a going concern. In response, purchasing Greek bonds became the stuff of fools – or of those who knew what the future actually held.
You see, once the bond prices of the soon-to-fail Greek economy had reached a sufficient profit-taking moment, the big banks sold their stakes in the Greek bond market and laughed all the way to, well, themselves. Now enter Polymarket, a one stop bet on everything sleaze factory; a place where one can wager on who’s gonna get divorced, who’s gonna go to war, etc. And of course these wagers are built for big banks and current presidents to make a fortune – because big banks and current presidents know the outcome of the bets before they place them! Our Grifter-in-Chief creates the markets, bets on them, makes his billions, and roars in hysterics at the extraordinary ignorance and gullibility of those who voted him into office. Nice job, America.
