HANOVER โ Following months of construction, Tuk Tuk Thai Cuisine will reopen this Saturday in a new location near the restaurant’s longstanding home underneath South Main Street, owner Pannipa Pace said in a phone interview.
The move to the 44 South Main St. location previously occupied by the events space Venue comes more than a decade after Pace opened Tuk Tuk at 5 South Main St. in 2015.
The old location is closed as of June 16, according to Tuk Tuk’s website.
Renovations to the new space included installing epoxy floors, painting the walls and putting in new equipment, Pace’s husband Ken Pace told the Valley News in February.
Pannipa Pace’s decision to relocate the restaurant was precipitated by property owner Jon Livadas’ plans to tear down the 100-year-old building on South Main Street and develop a 35-unit residential property.
There is still no firm start date for the building demolition, Livadas said in a Tuesday phone interview.
Tuk Tuk’s menu will remain largely the same, though Pace plans to add sushi to the restaurant’s offerings, she said.
The relocated restaurant’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday through Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
