Lebanon, NH – Maurice W. LeBlanc, 78, of Lebanon, NH, passed peacefully at home on Sunday, May 17, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Lebanon, NH on April 14, 1948, to Ann (Thrower) and Maurice J. LeBlanc.
He grew up in West Covina, CA, and attended Covina High School, where he excelled in the band, becoming lead trumpet in his junior year. As a senior, he played lead trumpet for the San Gabriel Valley Symphony Orchestra, was guest trumpet player in the Cal State LA Band, and for Whittier College musicals. As a senior he was accepted as lead trumpet into the 1966 School Band and Chorus of America, made up of US musicians up to 21 years old. After practicing in NYC for 3 days, they toured Europe for a month, giving concerts in 22 cities.
He met Connie Bludworth in Nampa, Idaho in June of 1971 and it was love at first sight for both. They were married at Sacred Church in Nampa on June 17, 1972, and they had their first 4 children. In 1979 they moved to Lebanon, NH where their 5th child arrived.
A family man, Maurice worked hard to support his family and was active in his children’s lives. He was an assistant Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader and started the Lebanon Junior High Track Program through the Lebanon Recreational Department. A very handy man, he fixed and updated almost every inch of their home. A member of Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon, he served on the Parish Council, the parish newspaper, and created many games for the children to play during parish outdoor functions.
At 41, he returned to school and became a Radiological Technician, working at DHMC for 25 years. He loved being an X-Ray Tech but his deep passion in life was always music, playing the trumpet for pure enjoyment. He played in many local bands, including the Lyme Town Band, the Upper Valley Community Band and the Kearsarge Band. He also started an Oom-Pah-Pah Band, which played in several venues, including the Sacred Heart Oktoberfest and the Harpoon Brewery Oktoberfest.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; children, David LeBlanc (Rachel), Stephen LeBlanc (Jennifer), Dianne LeBlanc (Scott Ehrlich), Maurice (Bob) LeBlanc (Susan), and Gregory LeBlanc; grandchildren, Nat and Maddie LeBlanc, Owen and Cedric Ehrlich, and Jonah and Elisa LeBlanc; brother, Philip LeBlanc (Pat); brother-in law, Harry Bludworth (Maria); cousins, Ron LeBlanc (Kate), Christine, Andi, and Tony LeBlanc; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, mother and father-in-law, sisters-in-law, Mary Sue Gately and Linda Quaglino, their spouses, and brother-in-law, W.C. Bludworth Jr.
