WEST CANAAN โ€” Mascoma Valley Regional School District administrative assistant Martha MacDonald has been named Administrative Assistant of the Year by the New Hampshire Association of Educational Office Professionals.

MacDonald, 65, an Enfield resident, has worked at Mascoma since 2016, according to a news release from the school district. Prior to joining the West Canaan-based office, she worked as an administrative assistant for SAU 88 in Lebanon since 2004.

โ€œMartha exemplifies everything this award is meant to honor: professionalism, integrity, compassion, and excellence in service,โ€ Mascoma Valley Regional School District Superintendent Amanda Isabelle wrote in a letter nominating MacDonald for the award.

For a decade, MacDonald has overseen the district office’s day-to-day operations and coordinated schedules, among other responsibilities. She has served as “the main point of contact for families, staff, and the Mascoma community,” according to the release.

Isabelle, Special Education Director Chris Beeso and Administrative Assistant Special Education Danielle Pushee all submitted nominations according to the release. MacDonald received the award earlier this month during the association’s annual conference in North Conway, N.H.

“I am especially grateful to those in the Mascoma Valley Regional School District who nominated me for this award,โ€ MacDonald, who is set to retire at the end of the school year, said in the release. โ€œI have been truly fortunate to work alongside such committed educational professionals.”
