Vote No on Article 7 in Hanover
Hanover residents voted last year to enact sensible “missing middle’” housing reforms recommended by the town Planning Board. These would allow private property owners to offer different kinds of house-scale residences with two, three, or four units to help address the housing affordability crisis facing our town and surrounding communities. The article passed, 703-575.
The proposed Article 7 was brought by a small group of residents who lost the debate last year. They would overturn the town’s decision before we even know what the results of the reforms will be. The Planning Board recommends voting against Article 7.
We urge our friends and neighbors to turn out on May 12 to vote no on Article 7 and make sure that these housing reforms are given a chance to work. There is no reason to overturn the decision we made just last year.
