Newport and Stevens compete at Kearsarge Regional meet
The Newport boys finished second in a field of eight teams at the Kearsarge Regional meet at Kearsarge High School on Tuesday. The Tigers’ Bryce Palmer won the 1,600 meters, Aidan Couitt the shot put, and the 4 by 400, and 4 by 800 teams won the relays. Also for Newport were Brady Minckler (2nd, javelin, shot put), Isiah Nash (2nd, discus), John Wilkinson (2nd, 3,200 meters), John Hooper (2nd, 300 meter hurdles), 4 by 100 relay (2nd), and Kellan Zullo (3rd, 1,600 meters).
For the Stevens boys, Kieran Heath won the 200 and 400-meter races, and Justin McGuire took first in the triple jump and long jump. Also for Stevens, Owen Chapman won the 100 meters and Max Acero the 800 meters. For the Stevens girls, Maddy Chambers took first in the javelin and 100 meters, with Audrina Pelton winning the discus. Faith Norton of Stevens was third in the 100 and second in the 200, with teammate Gianna Bovell finishing fourth in the shot put. Newportโs Callie Dixon won the shot put and was third in the discus, with Glory Parker second in the javelin.
