Plainfield, NH – Deborah Marie Davis (née Nykiel) passed away at her home in Plainfield, New Hampshire, on July 22, 2026. She was 73 years old.
Deborah was born on June 9, 1953, in Englewood, New Jersey, to John and Eleanor Nykiel. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Marist College. After living in New Jersey and New York, she made New Hampshire her home, where she raised her family.
Deborah’s Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted parishioner of the former Holy Redeemer Church in West Lebanon and, more recently, St. Denis Church in Hanover. She found joy in volunteering, spending time with dear friends, sharing tea, and tending to her garden.
Deborah is survived by her sister, Barbara Traver; her brothers, Kenneth Nykiel (Gloria) and Ronald Nykiel (Sandy); her daughters, Emily Jane Davis (Eric White) of Honolulu, Hawai?i, and Stacy Simanonok (Mike) of Underwood, Washington; her beloved grandson, Nolan Simanonok; her cherished cat, Benjamin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Eleanor Nykiel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 4, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church in Hanover, with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Lucy Mackenzie Humane Society.
Chadwick Funeral Home of New London is assisting the family with arrangements. The family also wishes to deeply thank Melissa Drye and Nick and Mandy Piper for their care and assistance.
