East Thetford, VT – Robert Ashel Blake Jr. “Bobby, 64, of East Thetford, VT, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 5th, 2026.
He was born on January 5th, 1962 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, VT to parents Robert A. Blake and Patricia Cadwell Blake. Bobby was known for his kindness, his humor and being a very hard worker as he helped keep the Upper Valley supplied with firewood and warm during the winters. He loved dogs, especially German Shepherds. Some other interests included hunting, fishing, and maple sugaring.
Bobby attended South Royalton Elementary School and then graduated from Thetford Academy. He went on to work in farming and was fully involved in his family logging business. He was especially well known in the town of East Thetford for his habit of sitting on his porch waving and smiling at all the passersby.
Bobby is survived by his father Robert and his brother Mike and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. was predeceased by his mother Patricia, grandparents, a few aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date during warmer weather.
