Unstable leader
One of the most discouraging things about our current president’s behavior is his penchant for insulting and name-calling. Showing astounding immaturity, Mr. Trump dehumanizes anyone who disagrees with him and thereby inspires his followers to do the same. When I criticize Mr. Trump, I try to avoid that kind of behavior. In my public comments about him, I try to treat him with a modicum of respect and speak about him without name-calling or insults.
Besides being concerned about Mr. Trump’s childish behavior, I think that everyone should be worried about two other things: (1) He is clearly showing signs of cognitive decline. One does not have to be a doctor or psychologist to see that his speeches and interviews are marked by contradictions, confusion, and nonsensical statements. (2) People who have worked with him in the have described his emotional instability and recklessness, but now his volcanic anger, impulsiveness, and vindictiveness are increasingly more on display.
So, even if a person is still a Trump supporter, shouldn’t they be very concerned that life-and-death decisions about our country and about the world are being made by a person who is mentally and emotionally unstable? I think so.
