No Kings III
The third nationwide “No Kings” protest will occur on Saturday, March 28. The second, on Oct. 18, 2025, was one of the largest single day protests in US history. About 7 million Americans, 2% of the US population, participated. According to Erica Chenoweth at Harvard Kennedy School, about 3.5% of a country’s population needs to actively protest to effect significant political change. The third nationwide protest is projected to approach 3%. The fourth and fifth nationwide protests, dates to be determined, are expected to be even larger.
Trump was elected president in 2024 mainly because he promised to lower prices on day one. He didn’t. Prices have risen because of his tariffs, crackdown on immigrants, and opposition to clean energy and will rise even further with the illegal war in Iran costing over $1 billion per day. In addition, Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill cut $1 trillion from Medicaid to pay for tax cuts for his billionaire donors. Meanwhile, the wealth of Elon Musk, his prime supporter and the world’s richest person, increased about three-fold, to $786 billion! Trump’s other broken promises include deporting the “worst of the worst”, releasing all the Epstein files, and stopping the war in Ukraine.
Trump’s attack on our country and the resulting chaos have, at times, seemed overwhelming. However, we are not powerless. Since his inauguration, Americans have forced Musk out of “office”; elected a progressive Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice, despite Musk’s monied opposition; convinced Disney/ABC to reinstate comedian Jimmy Kimmel; pressured the Justice Department to release the Epstein files; given Democrats huge margins of victory in several key gubernatorial and special elections; forced ICE out of Minneapolis; and prevented ICE from creating detention centers across the country, including in Merrimack, NH.
Please help save our country by making this protest on March 28 the largest in US history. Indivisible NH Upper Valley is holding its event at Colburn Park (the Lebanon Green) at 1 p.m. However, there are at least a dozen registered events in the Upper Valley. Go to nokings.org/ and RSVP at the location best for you.
