THETFORD — Voters approved all warned articles, including a $2.11 million operating budget, at Town Meeting Saturday.

Residents also approved $1.72 million for the town’s department of public works and $158,000 for the Thetford Library Foundation.

The majority of the articles passed by voice vote. Only one, the municipal budget, required a “counted vote,” where people’s votes had to be counted individually, according to meeting minutes. That vote was 149 to 20.

Less than 9% of Thetford’s voters turned out on Saturday: Of the town’s 2,367 registered voters, there were 205 voters in attendance, according to town clerk and treasurer Tracy Borst.

Voters will reconvene Tuesday for Australian ballot voting, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Thetford Town Hall, 3910 Vt. Route 113, where they will vote for town officers and the proposed Thetford School budget.
