Article of note: An article on the town warning proposes raising $158,000 as an appropriation to the Thetford Library Foundation. 

Contested races: There are no contested races for the Selectboard or School Board this year. 

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed general fund budget is up from last year’s $1.96 million at $2.11 million, of which $1.55 million is to come from taxes. The proposed school budget is $11.2 million, up from $10.4 million. The town is also proposing the raising of $1.72 million of which $1.54 million would be raised by taxes for Thetford’s Department of Public Works Fund.  

When, where and how to vote: Town Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. in the gymnasium of Thetford Academy. The School District annual meeting will be held immediately following Town Meeting. Australian ballot voting will take place Tuesday, March 3, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Thetford Town Hall, 3910 Vt. Route 113. Town articles will be voted from the floor at Town Meeting. The school budget will be voted by ballot.
