BRIGHTON, Vt. — A Proctorsville, Vt., woman died Saturday after her snowmobile struck a group of trees.
Laurie Jackson, 50, was traveling north on VAST Trail 2001 around 12:55 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a left-hand turn, according to Vermont State Police. Her 2021 Ski-Doo Renegade went off the trail and struck trees.
Jackson, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by ambulance to North Country Hospital in Newport, Vt., where she was pronounced dead.
Brighton Fire Department and the Department of Motor Vehicles assisted at the scene. State police are investigating the crash.
