Canaan, NH – Barbara Virginia Dauphinais, 81, died on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, NH. Barbara was born on July 30, 1944, in Grafton to Harry E and Martha D (Brown) Powell.
Barbara will be remembered for her love of animals, she especially enjoyed feeding the wild birds and visiting her nephew’s bantam chickens. She found great joy in shopping trips with her sister Ruby, they especially enjoyed finding bargains at the local thrift stores.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her husband Anthony C. Dauphinais, her brother Walter R Powell, and her sisters Rose W (Powell) Buckwold, Louise M (Powell) O’Shea, Ruby D (Powell) McAlister, Arlene M (Powell) Normandin, and Laura I (Powell) Ford.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Canaan Ambulance, the amazing people at the Jack Byrne Center, APD, Dartmouth Health, the Mascoma Senior Center, and her friends at Indian River Apartments.
A graveside service will be held on May 14, 2026 at 2pm at Pine Grove Cemetery in Grafton, NH. Knight Funeral Home of White River Junction, VT is entrusted with arrangements and online condolences and stories may be shared in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
