With Christmas music playing in their yard, Stormey and Alex Annunziata decorate trees at their home in Lebanon, N.H., on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020. The couple moved into their home a year ago and the first thing they unpacked were the Christmas decorations. "We wanted to up our game" this year, Stormey said. The idea to cover their large oak tree in lights came from recently sitting in their hot tub under the tree. The couple wants to spread cheer at this time of year with the light display. They rented a boom lift to be able to reach high into the trees. ( Valley News - Jennifer Hauck) Copyright Valley News. May not be reprinted or used online without permission. Residents of Claremont, Lebanon and Windsor can enter holiday decorating contests in their respective municipalities.

People who live in Claremont have until Thursday (Dec. 18) to enter Claremont Parks and Recreation Department’s Annual Christmas Lights Competition. Email parksandrecinfo@claremontnh.com with photos, name, address, email and phone number.

Residents can vote for their favorites by stopping by the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center (152 South St.) from Thursday through Sunday (Dec. 21).

The department also will host a Jingle Bus tour on Sunday, with separate trips at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. A bus will drive residents through Claremont neighborhoods so that they can see the light displays and vote on which one they like best. The tours kick off from the Community Center and people can register in advance at claremontparks.com/special-events/holiday-celebrations/jingle-bus.

After the tours are over and the votes are counted, a household will be named “Jingle Bus Holiday Lights Champion.”

Lebanon homeowners and businesses can enter the Lebanon-Upper Valley Lions Club’s annual Christmas/holiday lights contest by emailing photos of their displays to LUVlionsclub@gmail.com by Dec. 31. Winners, who will be selected by Lions Club members, will win gift certificates to Katieโ€™s Cookies in Lebanon.

People who live in Windsor can enter the 6th Annual Light Up Windsor Decorating Contest by emailing rwhite@windsorvt.org with photo of their light display with the subject “Light Up Windsor Entry” and their address by Monday (Dec. 22).

Afterward, three homes will be randomly chosen to win gift certificates to Windsor businesses in the contest hosted by the town.

Photos of the displays, along with addresses, will be posted to the town’s Facebook page (facebook.com/Windsor1777) and added to a map so people can take their own holiday lights tour.
