WEATHERSFIELD — The driver and sole occupant of one of two cars involved in a head-on collision on Route 106 in Weathersfield on Friday evening died en route to Springfield Hospital, Windsor County Sheriff Ryan Palmer said.
Three occupants of the other vehicle in the crash were transported to Mount Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, Palmer said.
Palmer declined to provide the name of the deceased driver, but said they were a Vermont resident.
The sheriff’s department is investigating with assistance from a Vermont State Police crash reconstruction team.
Firefighters from Weathersfield, Springfield, Vt., and Proctorsville, Vt., also responded to the scene.
