In a age of giving out gobs of candy, much concern about door-to- door trick or treating safety and day time trunk-or-treating, the Haunted Night Magic is still there.
My 8-year-old daughter and I attended the Haunted House at a private home (people we did not know) in Wilder on Halloween night. A family and their friends dressed up in nightmarish style and spooked us at every turn. From spooks to skeletons, we were so terrified. The lighting and black walls even gave off an eerie glow. When my child started to lose it with fear, one of the spooky characters led us out to safety understanding our plight.
To give of their time and home to bring a nice Halloween to the children (and adults!) of the Upper Valley, that is the true spirit of Halloween. It was the most thrilling experience of the night.
