Enfield, NH – Eleanor “Ellie” Jean Tessier, 68, of Enfield, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on October 31, 2025, surrounded by love.
Born on April 9, 1957, in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Ellie was the heart of her family and community. Her proudest career accomplishment was dedicating 25 years of her life to running her beloved daycare, where she cared for countless children with patience, laughter, and warmth. Her compassion and nurturing spirit touched every life she encountered.
Ellie is survived by her devoted husband, Jean Tessier; her children, Chris, Jeff, and Ashley; her adored grandchildren, Bradley, Brooke, Anna, Harper, and Hailey; her siblings, Patrick Howe, Marshall Howe, Arthur Champana, and Georgette Robbins; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Lyman & Constance Howe and Patrick & Jane Kelly; brother, Mark Howe; and other family and friends. Her family was her greatest joy – she loved them more than life itself.
Known for her contagious laugh and her ever-present smile, Ellie had a gift for finding light even in the hardest of times. She will be remembered for her kindness, her strength, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
A gathering to celebrate Ellie’s life will be held on Sunday, December 7th from 12-4pm, at Cornerstone Community Center, 14 Elk Street, Hartford, Vermont. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and share memories of the wonderful woman she was.
In lieu of flowers, donations to LISTEN Food Pantry (www.listencs.org/make-a-donation-now) in her name are encouraged.
Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her and benefit those who she never met.
