NEWBURY, Vt. โ A Newbury man faces criminal charges and civil violations after police said they caught him driving an uninspected vehicle without a license and speeding at 118 mph on Interstate 91 early Tuesday morning.
Vermont State Police troopers arrested Jeffrey Nolan, 30, after observing his vehicle traveling at 118 mph near mile marker 105 on I-91 in Newbury, Vt., a few minutes past midnight on Tuesday morning, police said in a news release.
Troopers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle during which Nolan displayed signs of impairment, according to the release. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI, excessive speed and negligent operation.
Nolan was then transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing, released and cited to appear in Orange County court on Nov. 19.
Nolan also incurred violation-level offenses for operating without a license, driving a vehicle with a lapsed inspection and failing to display a front license plate, police said.
