HANOVER โ A Saturday fire damaged a home on Carter Street.
The Hanover Fire Department responded to 8 Carter St. for reports of fire coming from a building at about 4 p.m. on Saturday, according to a department news release.
On the scene, firefighters found heavy fire coming from the rear of the building. The fire was under control by about 4:30 p.m.
The blaze caused heavy damage to the rear of the home and second-floor kitchen area.
No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries.
The fire is under investigation but does not appear to be suspicious, according to the news release.
Firefighters from Lebanon, Hartford, Norwich and Windsor assisted Hanover in its response. The Lyme Fire Department provided station coverage.
