Richard Gilbert
Claremont, NH – Richard M. Gilbert, 73, of Claremont, NH passed away
peacefully on September 19, 2025, after a three-year battle with
cancer.
Richard was born on July 21, 1952, in Claremont, NH to Lucien and
Lucia (Arel) Gilbert. He graduated from St Mary’s High School in 1970,
then served in the Army for three years. During his lifetime, he was a
highly skilled welder, and was employed at Joy Foundry, Osgood Welding
and Canam, where he eventually retired from. Richard enjoyed riding
his motorcycle, fishing, Demolition Derbies, reading, target shooting
and he was a gun enthusiast. He was very dedicated to spending time
with family and friends at the family cottage on Lake Kolelemook. He
especially loved the holidays for good leftovers.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Judy
Gilbert, His nephew, Chris Gilbert and his wife, Jessica and his
niece, Christina Gonyea and her husband, Chris, his great niece,
Taylor and his great nephew, Rayce.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Lucien and Lucia Gilbert.
Visiting hours will be on October 3, 2025, from 10 to 11AM with a
service at 11AM at the Stringer Funeral Home with a graveside burial
to follow.
