Patricia “Pat” Oparowski

Randolph Center, VT – Patricia “Pat’ Ann Oparowski, 91, of Randolph
Center, VT, died on September 18, 2025 at the Jack Byrne Center in
Lebanon, NH.

Pat was born on January 26, 1934 in Berwick, PA, the 8th child of
George and Bernice (Mensinger) Doty. The family moved to Watertown,
MA, in 1937, where they resided until moving in 1945, to Medford, MA.

Pat attended public schools in Medford and graduated from Medford High
School, class of 1951. Her first job was with Middlesex County
National Bank in Medford for five years. She then moved on to work for
Massachusetts Indemnity Insurance Company in Boston. For several
years, Pat was an active member of Girls Service Organization, a
branch of the USO. At one time, she was elected “Girl of the Year”.

She enjoyed good music and dancing, attending ballroom dancing four
nights a week. In 1959, Pat met the love of her life, Thaddeus
Oparowski, at a singles dance in Boston. They discovered they had
attended the same schools together, but never became acquainted. They
were practically neighbors in Medford Hillside. Ted and Pat were
married in 1961, and lived in and around Medford while raising their
two sons, Peter and David.

Pat worked at several part-time jobs before working full-time for the
consulting firm, Arthur D. Little in Cambridge, MA. She worked as an
administrative assistant before retiring in 1995. Her husband retired
from the Medford Fire Department that same year and they moved to
beautiful, peaceful Vermont.

Not long after moving to South Randolph, VT, Pat volunteered at
Gifford Hospital. She did this for several years. Pat will forever be
known for her button collecting and love of hummingbirds. Pat loved
buttons so much, she was in two clubs that were dedicated to buttons:
Verd-Mont Button Club and Twin Valley Button Club.

Survivors include her son, Peter (Kerry) Oparowski of Williamstown,
VT; grandchildren Katie, Jessica, and Ra; great-grandchildren Carter,
Jane, and Maxfield; and by 19 nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by both parents, her husband Thaddeus “Ted”
Oparowski, son David Oparowski, and by her seven siblings.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at
11:30am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located off
of Dairy Hill Rd in South Royalton, VT. A burial will follow at 1:00pm
at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Center, VT. All
are welcome to then join the family for a luncheon at Morgan Orchards,
