Viola Wilson
Canaan, NH – Viola Wilson, 89 peacefully passed away in her home with
family by her side on September 17th 2025 in Canaan, NH.
She was born Viola Mae Gillens May 12th 1936 to Avis and Sherman
Gillens.
She went to Goss School a one room school house in her younger years
and later went to Enfield High School which recently celebrated their
100th year alumni.
She married Clifford Wilson in 1954 and started her family on West
Farms Road in Canaan, NH.
She worked at many different places. Carter’s, Profile Sports Wear,
Watts Regulator, and New Hampshire Industries where she finished up
her career.
She collected many friends over the years. One of her favorite things
to do was to take her friends out on back roads in her Jeep Cherokee
for an adventure.
Her other favorite thing to do is spend time with her grandchildren
and great grandchildren. She always had time for everyone and she
cherished us all.
She leaves behind her son Jim Wilson and his partner Pat Fountain, her
daughters Jane Wilson and her partner Bill Westgate, Betty Kellogg,
and Cindy O’Dougherty. Her sister-in law Sarah Gillens and sister
Ginny Putnam. Her grandchildren Heather, Bobby-Lynn, Stormey, Siobhan,
Jimmy, Claire, Jessie, Joe, A.J., Chris, Andrew, & Caitie. Many many
great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and many dear friends and
neighbors.
She is predeceased by her husband Clifford Wilson, her daughter Linda
McGuire, and her brothers Gordon Gillens and Mike Gillens.
Our family is deeply thankful to Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice
who’s kindness, comfort and support brought peace to Vi and all of us.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A burial and celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
