Henry J. Champney

Grafton, NH – Henry J. Champney, 59, died on Thursday, September 18,
2025, at his daughter’s home in White River Junction, Vermont, after a
brief illness with cancer. Born on October 4, 1965, in Keene, New
Hampshire, Henry was the son of Henry Earl Champney and Bonnie Mae
(Russell) West.

Henry was a devoted father whose greatest pride was his four children.
Their love gave him the drive to work tirelessly, and he found deep
fulfillment in providing for them. A man of remarkable skill and
determination, Henry could fix just about anything-and if he didn’t
know how, he’d figure it out. His hands were never idle, and his mind
was always working. He loved fishing, laughing with friends, spending
time with his family, and his beloved dog, Dexter. His warmth, humor,
and generosity made him a cherished friend to many, and his presence
brought joy to every gathering.

Henry is survived by his wife, Melissa (Kelley) Champney of Grafton,
NH; his children Karla Champney of Enfield, NH, Carmen Lachle and
husband Nolan of White River Junction, VT, Megan Naylor of Lebanon,
NH, and Henry Champney II of Grafton, NH; his sister Theresa Champney
of Lebanon, NH; and five grandchildren-Lillian, Madalyn, Sophia,
Aubrey, and Xander-who brought him endless joy and was so very proud
of. He also leaves behind many other relatives and close friends who
were like family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jody Champney,
and his nephew Jesse Champney.
