We’re in the final weeks of verifying names for Hartford’s new veterans monument, and we especially need help finding those who served from 1975 to today. Please think about who you know who served in the military since the end of World War II (in Korea, Vietnam and subsequent conflicts) and put them in touch with us if they have a Hartford connection as described below.

Who qualifies: Veterans with a Hartford connection, including those who lived in Hartford at time of enlistment, or lived in Hartford for 30-plus years, either while in the service or after their service ended. Active duty, National Guard, or Reserve members all qualify, even if they did not deploy. All service since September 1945 counts for this monument, even if service wasn’t during an official conflict.

How you can help: Check our current names lists and, if someone is missing, share the Names Application with the veteran or their family (same link for both): https://tinyurl.com/Monument-2, or if you’re unsure, email us at ww1monument@gmail.com and we’ll help.

Timeline: We have about one month left to finalize the names list before it goes to the monument company, after which we can’t add more names. Please send additions or corrections by Oct. 15, 2025.

Please also share this with anyone who might be able to help us. Every name matters!
