Marlene (Lindsay) Patten
Enfield, NH – Marlene (Lindsay) Patten of Davenport, FL and formerly
Enfield, NH, born March 5, 1939 to Gordon and Helen (Bassett) Lindsay
passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 with her younger sister Jody
holding her hand at Vitas Inpatient Care Unit in Lake Wales, FL.
Marlene was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Helen Lindsay and
her husband of 59 years Carl Patten, and one grandchild Debora
Marlene.
Marlene is survived by her daughters Mary (Craig) Sharkey, Tina Marie
Cantrell, and Michelle (Fred) Orr; her siblings Joan (Alfred)
Dauphinais, Joseph (Ellie) Lindsay, and Nellie (Clifford) Stark; 14
grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and
another due in January 2026, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and
friends.
Marlene, a hard worker, together with her husband Carl, built and ran
Patten Construction of Enfield, NH for over 40 years. She served on
the school board of Mascoma Valley Regional School Board (SAU #62) in
the 1970s. She was an active member of the Lutheran Church of Enfield,
NH for many years. She and her husband Carl enjoyed their membership
in the Family Motor Coach Association (FMCA) and spent ample time
traveling and building friendships with Bluebird Bus Camping friends
throughout the years. She was an accomplished marksman. She also
formed and belonged to the Red Hat Ladies organization in Polk City,
FL.
To Marlene, her family was her greatest accomplishment and joy of her
life. She was happiest when the house was full of those she loved, be
it a family reunion, Thanksgiving dinner, birthday party, or her
favorite, a large Christmas gathering with the entire family in
attendance. She was always front and center making sure everyone had
food and glasses were filled, all the while with a smile on her face
and a container of “Grammy’s special water” in hand and a dish towel
on her shoulder.
Rickers Funeral Home in Lebanon, NH is handling the burial. There will
be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at The Oak Grove
Cemetery on September 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM followed by a gathering at
the former patten residence (52 Livingston Lodge Rd), in what was
Grampa’s Garage. Please feel free to bring any photographs that you
