This year, the Annual Hanover/Dartmouth Community Yard Sale is taking place Saturday, August 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Dewey Parking Lot (junction Rt. 120 & Rt. 10). Parking is plentiful as it is a holiday weekend.

Are your closets bursting with stuff, no room for the car in the garage, rooms given over to relics of your past, toys, games and equipment that your children have outgrown? Whether it is books, tools, linens, or outgrown clothes, this is an ideal time to clear the decks. Many of us tend to find ourselves with too much stuff at some point in our lives when others have too little.

Now is the time to help out those who are looking for bargains. Expenses are increasing for us all, but a $25.00 deposit will reserve a space to sell your excess stuff and relieve the clutter in your home.

This is the 14th year that the yard sale has been held, with thousands of usable items changing hands. Registration to sell is happening right now; go to sustainablehanovernh.org/yardsale to download a form and gather your stuff for sale.
The space you reserve will allow you to park your car and sell from the adjoining space. Hundreds of buyers increase the likelihood of making plenty of sales. Selling occurs between 10 and 2, but you will need to set up between 8 and 10 a.m. By 3 p.m. you will be done.

This is the first year that I am not in charge of the sale, but I am still involved and look forward to this fun event which is run by the Sustainable Hanover Waste Reduction group and Sustainable Dartmouth.

For the buyers who read this, bring your friends and plan on arriving in time to browse and shop. No early birds, please.
